About The Artwork

The Blue Bay collection is inspired by my apre-reggatta sailing experience in Devon. Growing up on the shores of the Caspian Sea and many adventures in the tropical seas across Caribbean, Brazil, Mediterranean and Indian Ocean I've been lucky to travel through. Having first hand regatta experience, I can honestly say - Champagne-on-the-deck is the kind of sailing I find most enjoyable and the kind of feel I transcend into my marine paintings. Care and stress free. Sun and salt in your hair. Reflections on water. Endless horizon views. It's also my take on the areal photography craze and attempt to create my very own get away reality where your eyes sink into the peaceful bliss. The series explore the idea of escape from urban stress and into the lavish tropical horizon Paintings are created with watercolour and a layer of oil boats - two stroke wonder, created to complete the minimal look of this highly successful seascape collection Bright florescent orange bouys Size: 70x50 cm / 27.6" x 19.6" 1.8 cm projection off the wall Size framed: 76x56 cm 5.5cm high edge white wooden tray frame - see images or message for extra images Material: Extra fine italian cotton canvas Finish: soft sheen gloss varnish ultra white edge *bear in mind its much nicer mintier colours and beautiful light locked in. No camera is sensitive enough to reflect these amazing colours. You have my absolute promiss its way more impressive in person. Materials: watercolour + oil+ acrylic on canvas finest Italian canvas gloss glazing (not plasticy but we'll protected) Shipped: ready to go on the wall streight out of packaging accept commissions on the series for size specific orders ** the collection has been shown aboard of luxury Saga cruise-ship [Spirit of Discovery ], Royal Caribbean Cruises, prints used for Palm Beach The Breaker, Hyatt Hotel Anantara, 5* hotel in Hawaii and a hotel revamp in Naples, FL. Instagram: @y_martynova_ As a multidisciplinary artist I enjoy experimenting across traditional media developing several collections in parallel. Just like my approach to painting, behind the striking aerial seascapes, dreamy sky canvases and delicate watercolour geometry on paper there lies an adventure. Questioning 'what if', 'where to' and answering 'lets run away' my paintings take you on the journey offering an easy escape not just for your eyes but hopefully invoking much deeper sentiments. Seemingly light hearted and often romantic creations are kaleidoscopic puzzles channeling my own qualities I considers well hidden otherwise. Since 2015 ive been a frequent participant of London art fairs, popular with high end interior designers, hospitality sector art consultants and loves working on commissions. B i o g r a p h y: Born and raised in a small oily town on the shores of the Caspian Sea, a promising art school graduate age 15, I was swayed to train as a lawyer instead. Moved to Aberdeen in 2005 and having made career in energy in London, I have lost my interest in corporate world in 2015 and pursued my artistic development full time. in 2020 I became a mother so we moved out to Berkshire to raise my family in a beautiful English countryside.
