This still life is a memory of home, a picture in my mind. Blue for me is a symbol of peace, this colour connects me with the house where it is cosy and calm. In the village where I come from people paint their houses with blue lime because it is believed that this colour brings prosperity. It was a bright autumn evening, I found an incredibly beautiful pumpkin in our vegetable garden - it was perfect, I thought that you can't eat it, you have to paint it to keep it forever! It's been three years since I painted this still life, back then it was in colour. Today it is my memories of home in blue.
