In "Blue Japanese Dream" I am studying the concept of Perfection that is often percepted as obligatory ingredient of Happiness. Tender blue flowers as quintessence of pure natural beauty in this composition could be labeled as imperfect due to many reasons: lack of symmetry, odd number of flowers, sharp petals, uneven background and many more. One's pursue of Happiness is often disrupted by negative yet controversial public opinion that can give false guidelines and ruin fragile hopes and aspirations. It is important to remember that it uncovers the vices of society, not those of the subject of criticism. Most standards and goals criteria would be different for various people, societies and cultures. At the same time universal codes of natural beauty remain understandable by every human. Portrait of vivid blue flowers is painted by natural oil colors linking my art to historic traditions of depicting beauty of the world. It is presented against synthetic acrylic background as metaphor or artificial components of modern emotional environment. I am referring to traditional Japanese philosophy in search of creating inner comfort from very simple things, seeing nature as endless source of immaculate beauty and genuine happiness.

STATEMENT Turbulent times make us strive for eternal values. My paintings are my research of world's transformation from self-destruction to re-creation, the way towards conscious Happiness. I am turning to impressionists’ fundamentals, their challenge to capture flashes of emotions, memories and dreams. Re-thinking historical traditions in my abstracts I reflect deeper feelings evoked by daily life. Combination of eternal and modern techniques makes pursue of Happiness in my art key to inner and outer Balance. I wish my art helps people to live through turbulent times and teaches all of us to treasure moments of Joy and Beauty. WEBSITE http://irina.gallery
