About The Artwork

This work is the result of long experimental research on the reaction of pure blue color when mixed with orange, black, varnish and water on canson paper (220 gr). When the paper dried I glued it on canvas. I ship Blue Orange Crush No 2 in tube but the best way to be shown is stretch framed and covered with plexiglass.

Born 1971 Athens, Greece. She has been creating art since the very beginning, it being her center always. She attended tuitions in painting and drawing by acclaimed Greek painters and was admitted for a BA in Industrial Design by St Martins School of Arts, London. She has experimented in many fields: oil, acrylic, pastels, charcoal, Chinese and Indian ink, collage, monotypes and vitraux. She always believed that creating art is a form of political action. Therefore she studied Political Sciences at the University of Athens, Greece (BA) and she adopted an MA in International Media by the University of Leeds, UK, where she elaborated a thesis on “Art in Propaganda of WWII and Cold War”. She also believes that creating art sees no country boundaries. Therefore, for being able to explore thoroughly several civilizations, she learned to speak English, French, Italian, Spanish and Serbian. Thus through her studies, travelling and research she was exposed to new and exciting ideas which helped form her artwork. The last two decades she specializes in abstract painting using acrylic on paper and canvas. Diligently painting, she has built a large body of work, much of which hangs in private collections. One would place her work in the category of abstract expressionism. Even though drawing is evident in her paintings, she does not use this as her technical base. The drawing is in her gesture and the gesture itself automatically deconstructs the drawing in the process of recording the emotion. She is inspired by great abstract american expressionists such as Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly and Jasper Johns but she strongly maintains her very own artistic character and way of seeing things in 21st century. Today her working studio is located in Athens, at the foot of Acropolis.
