About The Artwork
AL-MULK (67:29) Say, "He is the Most Merciful; we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. The artwork combines extract from Blue Quran and a dominated geometric pattern of Islamic architecture. The manuscript Blue Quran is a famous art piece of Islamic history (9th century) having gilded Kufic calligraphy on shades of Indigo. It adheres to common characteristics of 7th-10th century Quranic manuscripts i.e. without dots and punctuation marks. Inspired by Blue Quran, Verse 78 of Surah Mulk is written here in early Kufic script without dots or punctuation marks. The background of painting is prepared with flowing acrylics in varying tones of blue. The outline of script is made of relief- paint initially; however, is processed further for antique look. The sequential geometric pattern is sketched with geometry tools. The pattern and script both is shaded with Antique and Opaque shades of acrylic gold.
