About The Artwork
I painted this view of the Grandfather Vineyard and Winery in Banner Elk, NC, during a meeting of my Plein Air group, The High Country Plein Air Painters. I was inspired to paint this view from the top of a hill as it gave me a full picture experience of the mountain setting, the winery, and of course the vineyards. I chose professional oil paints to fully capture the richness and texture of the greens and the contrasting colors of the winery. I hope that those viewing this painting can feel the gentle warm sunshine, the pleasantly cool mountain air, and the anticipation of tasting a local wine here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The frame of this painting is of high quality solid wood and is ready to hang with a wire on the back.
