About The Artwork
A few years ago I was in a group show called "Split." I painted a few pieces on blocks of wood. I really liked the idea of playing with them moving them around to create different compositions. This idea of building a piece out of many blocks has run through my work ever since that show. Windows are a common theme for my work, I like how they break up a space or scene. This is one my most minimal paintings, I really like to try to pare down an idea to a clean, simple image. This piece is inspired by looking at the sky through a half rolled down car window.
