For identification of this artwork a transponder is embedded in the colour. This work contains elements from the work “Judith I” by Gustav Klimt (completed in 1901) Acrylic on canvas. Transponder.120×160 cm (without frame). Completed 2018. HISTORY Judith (hebr. Juwish), a figure from the Old Testament, is a respected, pious, rich, beautiful widow. Not long ago, the Jewish community returned from exile when the Assyrians threatened to desecrate their sanctuary – Jerusalem – again. The Jewish community, in fear, passively hopes for God’s help. In this hopeless situation, Judith herself becomes active and sneaks into the hostile camp under the command of the enemy. There she introduces herself to the commander Holofernes as a traitor and thereby gains his trust. The general is very fond of her. After the banquet, she executes her plan, knocks his head off at night and saves her people from destruction by the Assyrian ruler Nebuchadnezzar’s forces. ITEMS OF THE PAINTING The swan: blue for the expression of femininity. This graceful being, also as a symbol of eternal love and the embodiment of perfect beauty. Brilliantly beautiful, full of elegance and faithful for a lifetime – hardly any other animal is so closely associated with romantic love and true purity of heart as the swan. The declaration of love “Love”: – in typewriter characters – the heroine’s love for her people. Reading backwards, the word “Evol” results. In the English urban conversation mode, in a similar way,”to worry about one’s loved one (his loved one)”. Leonardo (da Vinci): top left, himself a genius of his time, Judith sends the letter by balloon mail, in which he praises her for her ingenious heroic deed.

Switzerland
A former engineer living in the fast lane, Bastian Oldhouse is a Swiss painter and sculptor. With his surreal works of art, he creates metaphors. And when painting is no longer enough, he shakes things up with three-dimensional pieces.Shoevinist The artist is not obliged to provide a standard, immediately recognizable line. The materials to be used to achieve a particular goal must also be determined before a work is started. Whether pastel chalk, carbon pencil, acrylic or oil on paper or canvas – whatever the desired effect, the appropriate material must be used. The distinctive features that make his works unmistakable are a red stiletto shoe and – invisibly embedded in the colour – a transponder (microchip) that serves as identification.
