Bora Bora Boyz Painting

The work is called 'Bora Bora Boyz. I painted it from a photograph I took while working on a Cruise Ship as a Photographer in about 1998. I was walking down the gangway in the humid heat and in the distance I saw this group of lads watching as the passengers poured from the Ship.There was something about the group that intrigued me so I took a shot with my long lens. It was shot on Fuji Film in the days before Digital. I love their mode of transport and wonder as to their lifestyle and daily existence on such an idyllic Island. I love the character to the left with the Mohawk and tattoos. I used acrylics and Oil on a Winsor and Newton Canvas board. This has always been one of my favourite paintings and it's only now that I feel I can part with it.
