About The Artwork
Wild fires decimated our little piece of Fynbos paradise and left black, charred earth and white ash behind. It's inconceivable that a few moths later, the fynbos flourished in an act of defiance against their losses. These pin cushions are a bit like the Phoenix rising up from the ashes. I hope the observer will identify with the sense of hope, beating the odds and being able to bloom where you are planted, no matter the circumstances.
