Brooklyn Boy Painting

Brooklyn Boy was inspired by the youngest heavyweight champion to ever do it Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson's life is one of constant battle, one of extreme highs and extreme lows. The piece drew inspiration on the many faces and emotions of Mike Tyson, both internal and external. When you look at the face of the "Brooklyn Boy" your perception of him changes depending on what angle you're looking from. At times the "Brooklyn Boy" may look like a monster, at times he is just your average man. The "Brooklyn Boy" expresses our own internal emotions that we must live with everyday. The perception of each and everyone of us changes depending on who you ask, for every person we encounter interprets us differently. This piece was created mainly with acrylic paint and oil pastels. Chalk and pencil was added to certain smaller portions of the piece. The piece was intentionally made to not have a clean finish as it added a chaotic feel. The piece is 24in by 24in (2ft by 2ft) and is Titled, Dated and Signed on the back.
