Buddha Painting

In 2015, I found myself inspired by some of our world cultures and folk style influence on some of their art. I then started a series of watercolor paintings that I then nailed w/copper nails onto wooden planks as frames. These frames I also designed. I wood burned zentangle designs into them and lacquered. As you can imagine a lot of time, detail, materials, and passion went into creating these one of a kind gems. This is the second in the series, titled "Buddha One." The series is known as the Cultural Icons. I decided to create Buddha in this style between my appreciation for zentangle elements and bohemian (boho) influences. I hope that my viewers will enjoy this style, and the rich and deep colors I have put into this piece. I hope they will appreciate the detail yet the simplicity in its representation. I will leave it to the eye of the beholder what they feel after that. The original is presently open for purchase to the right buyer. The original painting is nailed to a wooden frame plank designed by me, and the size on the wooden plank is 22wX23.5hX.5d.
