About The Artwork
Unlike the Daffodils that are already on their way, the Hyacinth buds are still a little timid to poke their heads out into the world. No matter, I know that with a little patience, I will be happily rewarded when they bloom their gorgeous purples and blues and fill the air with their floral fragrance. An added bonus is that when they are placed in a vase with my daffodils - they add a visual contrast (yellow's opposite is purple - Color Theory 101), and put the "spring" in this colorful season. The piece is painted with the finest Winsor-Newton Oil Paint on Organic Cotton Canvas. The accompanying piece - "Blooming Hyacinths" will be released in about 3 weeks, when the first buds open, and Spring's joyful dance commences. "Budding Hyacinths" is framed in a wooden frame with gold insert, and is ready to hang. Framed Dimensions:15"x17". Shyami Codippily was born in Sri Lanka, and moved to the USA with her family. She has been an artist since she was three years old, painting in oil, watercolors, and gouache; sculpting in marble; and creating various 2-d and 3-d works with various other materials. She uses her art as an avenue to communicate her experiences with nature. She has received numerous National and International awards throughout her artistic career. Shyami is also the author, artist, and producer of three acclaimed books on Howard County, Maryland: Farms Never To Be Forgotten, Churches Never To Be Forgotten, and Manors Never To Be Forgotten. Each piece of artwork that she has created comes signed and dated, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
