Throughout history the donkey has long been a faithful helper in the building of civilizations. It is perhaps the least noted and most helpful of all domesticated animals. It was always taken for granted, yet largely responsible for the rise of pyramidical temples and many other of humanities' architectural achievements.

Michael Wiebach is a Mexican-German visual artist who is best known for his simultaneous combination of painting, installation art and short films. Using representational objects such as old toys, industrial junk and other obsolete gadgets, he creates elaborate installations and art objects. At the same time, these objects are often the themes rendered on many of his oil canvases. Through his work, Michael Wiebach practices a certain form of modern archeology, through which modern technology is seen from the margin of its own waste.
