With his first solo exhibition Dejan Kaludjerovic, states his position on the totality of the tragedy in which we have been living for more than 10 years. At the same time he is not judging, but merely stating facts we are all aware of, using the poetics of kitsch.

Dejan didn't choose kitsch to be funny or mocking, but to point out that all of this could have happened only to "kitsch-men" and that kitsch-man, whose reality has been betrayed the most, doesn't know what to do with his betrayed life, and doesn't know where he went wrong. He used to live so nicely tucked on his little house, with a retouched wedding picture hung above his bed - "Building of a Temple" - He used to dress up his children in white shirts and blue skirts for Tito's birthday celebration, with pioneer's neckerchiefs and caps - "Pioneers" - and he didn't even notice when "Three Little Pigs" decided that he was not supposed to live like this and that the best thing for him would be to put on a uniform and run across the maps - "The Boy" - even if it means inviting death into his home.

Dejan Kaludjerović was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. He studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna and gained an MA in visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 2004. For his achievements in visual arts, Kaludjerović was granted an honorable Austrian citizenship. In 2017 Kaludjerović co-founded a Vienna based arts and cultural organization Verein K. Since finishing his studies in 2004, Dejan Kaludjerović has been exploring the conjunction between consumerism and childhood, to analyse identity formation and stability of representational forms.
