About The Artwork

About the original artwork: "Bunny Land" (Ink Is Alive series - stretched canvas one-of-a-kind painting, ready to hang) The artwork Bunny Land is part of my Ink Is Alive series, in which I trace the spirit of animals, nature and fictional characters. Pythagoras (c. 582-496 B.C.), one of the greatest Western universal geniuses, is considered the forefather of vegetarianism in Europe. In his school communities, where women were also admitted on an equal footing, it was considered a matter of course not to eat meat. For this reason, vegetarians were called "Pythagoreans" in professional circles until the middle of the 19th century (when the term "vegetarian" did not yet exist). From Pythagoras the following statement is handed down: "Who cuts the throat of an ox with the knife and remains deaf at the roar of fear, who is able to slaughter the screaming little goat in cold blood and eats the bird, which he himself has given the food - how far is such a one still away from the crime? This painting is ready for hanging. (Hanger included) All paintings are fully signed on the back. (If you wish an additional signature on the front, this is gladly possible on request, please provide a note when ordering). Fine high quality materials such Golden artist paint products are used. The official catalog raisonné number is always noted on the back. Likewise, the title and year of creation are recorded on the back. A certificate of authenticity is attached to each work and includes a list of used material. The painting is lightly varnished for UV protection. Painting in interior setting pictures might not be perfectly to scale. Please contact me if you have any questions about this or any other one of my paintings! Please connect with me also, if you wish to see more photographs, this is gladly possible. I am always happy to assist. Thanks a lot for your interest in my work Sincerely, Jacob About the artist: „In order to see ourselves clearly in the here and now, it is important to understand why we had already made the decisions manifesting here, long before. It is not enough to look at the moment to understand what is happening. The sum of our decisions, made aeons ago, draw our collective reality (and our individual reality). Social conditions limit the unlimited space. The gene|rational memory is present to foster creativity in order to overcome the limits and restraints build by injustice and unfair social conditions. ‍ The pursuit of truth in freedom, for freedom's sake - I lost, but was not defeated, grew stronger, became more aware, became more grateful. I won, but I am not a winner.“ JVS Von Sternberg’s paintings appear as dreamlike images in which fiction and reality meet, well-known tropes merge, meanings shift, past and present fuse. Time and memory always play a key role. By emphasising aesthetics, he seduces the viewer into a world of ongoing equilibrium and the interval that articulates the stream of daily events. Moments are depicted that only exist to punctuate the human drama in order to clarify our existence and to find poetic meaning in everyday life. By exploring the concept of landscape in a nostalgic way, he investigates the dynamics of landscape, including the manipulation of its effects and the limits of spectacle based on our assumptions of what landscape means to us. Rather than presenting a factual reality, an illusion is fabricated to conjure the realms of our imagination. © 2021 JVS Original Artwork - All rights reserved.

What remains is the love and kindness in my heart, which I cherish like a treasure. Whatever happens in life, the beat of our hearts decides the path. The essence of unity is reflected in my art. I travelled the world in search of my family and eventually achieved the healing of generations through my relentless search and longing to reunite my family on two continents. By nature I am actually rather shy and very sensitive. I love to support others. Love to speak about unity, about love, and all the wonders I witnessed on my journey around the world. I am grateful you are interested in my work. Art is my life. My work features small, medium, large and also extra large scale paintings on a very wide variety of surfaces. I use canvas, paper, wood, and several nonconventional surfaces such as time worn wood, vintage papers, and antique textiles, and metal findings that I have collected over the years during my travels. I often paint with tools that I have developed myself or use unconventional ones. At times I refuse to use brushes and painter's knives and use only things from everyday life in an adapted form to create my art. My sculptural works feature beach wood, textile surfaces in combination with colored resin, and a selection of antique findings.
