About The Artwork
‘Close To Heaven’ was painted some time ago. It goes with my satirical, illustration and light hearted work that I like to do from time to time. The medium I used is oil paint on thick gallery wrapped canvas, which is painted on all sides, incorporating the sides with the painting itself. This way, no frame would be needed when hanging on the wall, making it a very contemporary piece. It is intended as a bit of fun as skydiving seems to be, at least for whoever is not too frightened of heights, that is.

Principally a surrealistic and abstract artist, he has a fondness for satire and caricature, with a hint of humour fantasy and the whimsical. Nevertheless, there is a realistic and a sober aspect to some of his work too. World events, social affairs and politics draw his attention, but he can be inspired by everything and anything seen, heard or felt. His expression can be direct or ambiguous. What is prevalent throughout his work is light, movement and flow, hardly any black is employed, leaning towards enlightenment.
