ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Size of the painting: 120 x 100 x 2,5 cm. Dimensions including the frame: 140 x 120 x 7 cm. Dimensions frame:10 x 7 x 2 cm. The frame was designed by the Architect Pietro Bagli Pennacchiotti, of solid wood, refinement with an aniline and wax patina. CO' is perception of "time" in close relationship with the dimension of "space". Since my works only have the dimension of "space" as they are "contemporary", I felt the need to partially destroy them, simulating a premeditated "destruction", creating "gaps-lack", to then reintegrate them through pictorial restoration. These works were born from my passion for restoration and after reading Cesare Brandi's theory of restoration, for which time is the authentic are the basic principles to give continuity to the life of the work of art, through a neutral vision and respectful integration; separating the integral parts of the original parts in a recognizable way, the "vital time" of the work continues through the "neutral time". The technical aspect was facilitated by the fact that I attended professional painting restoration courses: by reintegrating the "missing parts", giving continuity to the image through controlled action, my work acquires the value of time. The processing time itself of a work is long, as if to participate in its life journey. In CO', the restoration insertion is complete, like the focusing of a camera. The work system is layered. CO' means energy and vital rhythm. The painting was exhibited in personal exhibition ITINERARIA in the Umberto Mastroianni Civic Museum of Marino Citty (Rome), 2022. Catalog available.
