View In My Room
"Happiness is right here, now." Flowers, animals, and beautiful nature are abundant on the head of the girl appearing in the work. People tend to forget their inner happiness by being misled by external sounds. The scenery above the girl's head is a mysterious and pure ideal space and happiness that already exists in us. The girl in the work is mysterious and exotic, but she is characterized by a round face with red cheeks and small lips. The unfamiliar culture and communication difficulties of other countries that I felt while growing up in Australia from the age of 13 put myself on the path of art and put emotions, psychology, and people's expressions in my artworks. A girl with pure aspiration is a reflection of the artist herself, and conveys through nature and characters that "happiness is not far away, but self-awareness." I've liked painting portraits since I was young. I was interested in emotions, psychology, etc. In addition, I started to think that the boundaries between visual arts, humanities, psychology, and philosophy were ambiguous and connected at some point, and I wanted to learn theoretical psychology in more depth, so I studied a master's degree in applied psychology after completing my undergraduate degree at an art school. Psychology is connected to many areas of a person. Biological, chemical, behavioral, cognitive.... As there is a saying that everything depends on your mind, there are many consequences from the mind. So now I'm expressing this in my work. The meaning that happiness already exists inside and comes from the mind is conveyed through [girls with flowered hair].

South Korea
South Korea- born Australian artist, currently based in Seoul. "The early immigration period was difficult to communicate in the language, but the sense of isolation has driven me into creating art as another way of communication. Since then, art never left me." Since 2015, Eury moved back to Korea and started her art series that involves Korean poetic approach in fine art. The latest series contains flows and rhythms of Eastern art in the absorption of Western form, texture and colour. The artworks convey the world that may not be visible but the dreamlike imagery. The artist's recent works display a poetic space formed by fairytale-like natural environment and symbols with Korean traditional art approach, creating a hidden, mystic and dreamy atmosphere. In collaboration with her personal feelings, she recorded certain visual scenes that remembered from her dreams and imagination.
