ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A set of works in which different paths and states of mind are represented. An attempt to explore the physicality of painting, through the use of color, giving an illusion of space and also movement within each work. The painting explores the poetry of lost things. All these works may resemble interiors or landscapes, but they are also about color relations and improvisations. I am interested in creating paintings that act as "soundtracks" of a certain moment. I used acrylic paint, oil, temper and coal working with many thin layers to achieve the richness of colors.

Mariana Telles da Silva Homem de Mello was born in Porto on November 3, 1974, having always lived in Lisbon. In 1992 attended the course Drawing from the National Society of Fine Arts of Lisbon but only started painting in 2008 with the painter Isabel Contreras Botelho. Her work is primarily figurative and expressionist, has an own way, gestual and intuitive. Reflected memories and moods, images of things seen before, places and moments perhaps imagined. Uses various types of materials such as oil, pastel, acrylic, charcoal and china ink.
