About The Artwork
Caramelised is also from my knights series and portrays two knights jousting against a cosmic background. The horses seem to melt away, giving the impression that the knights are floating in midair. The aim of the painting was to illustrate the ephemeral nature of pomp and pageantry.

Argentina
Simon Boyd, born in London 1978, studied Fine Art at Middlesex, 1997-2001. He has lived in Argentina since 2007. Simon has held solo shows in both Argentina and the UK; ‘The Jousters Banquet’ at the British Arts Centre, Buenos Aires, in 2009 and ‘Also Light…’ at Anteros Arts Foundation, Norwich, 2023 to name a few. He has also participated in the International Contemporary Art Biennial, Buenos Aires, in 2016. A key inspiration for the colour and depth of his work is the South American landscape of La Pampa. Simon's use of palette echoes the sense of vitality and purity the landscape there evokes.
