This is an original, contemporary, pour painting part of my energetic fluidity series.
I don't like to give too much meaning to my paintings because I believe we all see such different things in abstraction making our narratives along the way. Below you will find my artist statement which is behind every artwork I create at this time to give some focus for each painting.

I am interested in the faulty nature of our memories and the ways in which we reinterpret an experience, event, emotion, and space. We build upon that nostalgia and those memories crafting our present-day experiences though this faulty and distorted vision of what was and thus what could be. My art lies in the crux of this distortion of building. This may be why I lean towards acrylic paints and the layers that can be created with a faster drying process. While my art focuses in the desire, beauty, serenity, and longing that exists in dreams, nostalgia, and desire, there is a bit of despair and sadness hidden in the layers of each painting. I guess a bit of the human. I believe this small layer of sadness is the actual process in which our memories do fail us, hinder us, romanticize our past, and help to form us into creatures that long for what we once had or saw or loved...which itself might be a total fabrication. But I daydream, I long, I want and my art navigates the process at which this all unfolds.

I delve into the realm of abstract art to bridge the gap between our inner and outer worlds. My artistic process involves layering various mediums, including acrylic paint, ink, charcoal, and modeling paste on several paintings at once. I work intuitively and instinctually without a premeditated end goal. I imagine myself to be an alchemist who transforms and transmutes materials into artistic creations. Inspiration stems from the natural world and organic forms, exploring the connection between human experience and the environment. My work investigates the tensions between light and dark, fantasy and reality, myth and faith. I am fascinated by our emotional, psychological, and spiritual relationships to these tensions. Through the use of recognizable environmental cues such as color, texture, shape, and composition, the viewer is invited into the abstracts, allowing for deeper exploration. Every aspect of our fast-paced environment demands our attention, constantly and persistently, turning everything into a quick-to-consume experience. My artwork resists this trend. The art offers a respite from the fast-paced world, inviting the viewer to slow down, encouraging introspection, self-reflection and daydreaming.
