Based on a 1909 photograph by Edward Curtis of the Native American Bear’s Belly. He is wearing the skin of 1 of the 3 Bears he killed on a single encounter. I used red as the dominant color to try and express the sheer violence and terror as he described his encounter with the bears. This is a very large, very colorful, captivating piece.
