Together, in the dawning of our story, we do not understand nor fear what we will, but find faith and comfort in our imagined protectors and pass, down, to our children, knowledge - like this flickering life - which keeps the darkness at bay *********** This painting is inspired by our ancestors, those who huddled together in a cave at Chauvet in France between 30,000 and 35,000 years ago and documented their experiences with such detail and beauty that it transcends those intervening millenia, a space of time really quite inconceivable when compared to our own short lives on this earth. Our desire to express knowledge and feelings, and to pass this on to the next generation has not gone away. *********** This is a bold and striking 110 x 80cm oil painting mounted on 3.5cm deep stretchers. It is carefully finished with matt varnish and stored in proper conditions protected from dust. The poem for this painting was written by my husband, Alex.

Originally from Płock in Poland, Adrianna lived in Northern Ireland from 2007 until 2013. She then spent two years living in Cambodia, absorbed by the wild variety of new colours and textures she was exposed to in the unique Khmer culture, where she also taught art workshops for children and adults. At the end of 2014 she returned to Poland and spent 2 years in the mountain surroundings of Zakopane. Since early 2017 she has been based in Berlin, Germany. She works primarily with oil painting, sometimes incorporating mixed media and texture effects. She has also experimented with sculpture. She starts her paintings with a wild loose style and then by applying layers upon layers the painting becomes more defined, requiring detailed fine brush work. Adrianna has been painting since 1999 and is self-taught. Initially she started out painting still-life, but quickly moved to a more abstract style. Primarily, painting has acted as a personal meditation and an opportunity to express ideas and feelings from within. She is hugely inspired by the ebb and flow of music which is a permanent background to the creation of her work. She hopes that people will become lost in her paintings, discovering new details with each viewing. She wants her paintings to arouse positive emotions, and hopes that people will get to know the energy in her heart. She works to present a different perspective on the world and its colours. Adrianna has had work exhibited in Northern Ireland, Cambodia, Poland and Berlin. In Poland her work was displayed in galleries in Krakow and selected for the Passion Art Festival. She also had exhibitions in Płock, Zakopane and Gorlice. In 2018 she has exhibited work at the Green House and Gallery Emma T in Berlin, as well as being involved in the Artspring Decentralised group exhibition. She has been involved in multimedia projects with artists like Wash, and her work has been used for multiple album covers by a range of different musicians.
