About The Artwork
A sense of calm and serenity is what I feel when I see cherry blossoms. It reminds of spring as it blooms with hopes of people that the dreary winter is over and the colours of spring are coming. The usage of impasto creates a 3D texture of the flower petals along with palette knife stokes to make the mountains add a level of depth to the overall painting. On a personal note this painting was created by me in a rather dark period of my life to remind me that the winters are over and spring of my life is approaching soon.
