About The Artwork
A cherry blossoms branch, painted with ink and watercolours on rice paper. This particular painting is done using a traditional "momigami" technique, which means "crumpled" or "kneaded paper". In sumi-e, the paper is crumpled and then painted on (or vice versa), giving unusual interesting texture to the final images. Sakura or cherry blossoms are a national flower of Japan, a symbol of spring and fleeting beauty. The cherry blossoms viewing has become a popular custom in many countries. It's very romantic. This painting is my tribute to the beauty of spring and lovely cherry blossoms. The painting is signed, sealed, wet-mounted on backing rice paper and ready to be framed or mounted on a silk scroll. Please use acid-free adhesives when framing. It is manually cut, please leave a few mm error margin for dimensions. Colours may differ due to differences in devices.
