I have taken the task to look at images of pain and despair and reconstruct them into new expressions of hope, poetry and beauty. For me, they are a reminder of the transformative power that we carry within. Becoming is a choice! I appreciate the thoughtful insights that Art Historian Dr. Catherine Dossin* provided about this work: "Bendito’s abstractions reveals in fact a desire to reconstruct what had been destroyed and find some inexpugnable order beneath the chaos."
