I have taken the task to look at images of pain and despair and reconstruct them into new expressions of hope, poetry and beauty. For me, they are a reminder of the transformative power that we carry within. Becoming is a choice! I appreciate the thoughtful insights that Art Historian Dr. Catherine Dossin* provided about this work: "Bendito’s abstractions reveals in fact a desire to reconstruct what had been destroyed and find some inexpugnable order beneath the chaos." Perhaps one of the greatest virtues that we can cultivate is the alchemy of turning darkness into light, pain into lucid moments of reflections, loss into new findings and meanings. I hope these digital paintings will inspire others as much as they have inspired me. ________________ *“Petronio Bendito: Digital Color, Algorithm and Expressions”. C. Dossin and E. Mix. (2014).
