About The Artwork
Chioggia, Calle Fidado, crossbeam, oil on canvas, 45 x 80 cm. The side street in which we lived in is characterized by humpy cobblestones and the low crossbeam at the end of the street where those bigger than me have to crouch in order to pass it. With a baguette in a backpack I couldn´t pass the beam walking upright. The second obstacle is the height of the steps leading from the first floor to the attic apartment in which we live in. Gina didn´t manage to walk up the stairs and I always had to carry her up one floor. I alculated the time carrying Gina into the time needed for my daily grocery trips.

Born in 1958, she lives and works in Graz, Austria; received her degrees in German Literature an Art History in 1993 and in 1997 from the Karl-Franzenz-University in Graz; Beginning with her oil-painting in 1979; her first own paintings where miniatures, which she now calls “romantic landscapes in expressive colors”. Her works has been exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Austria, Germany, France and Italy;
