About The Artwork
I had the opportunity, while living in Spain in 2012/13, to draw other trees besides the aspen tree. Living in Colorado the aspen was my focus for many years. I was drawn to the old Cypress trees that grew in the park and in the cemeteries. It's dense shape and historical presence in all of Europe and the Middle East intrigued me. I did many small on-site watercolors then came home to the studio and chose three to do in a larger scale.

B. 1955 in Brooklyn, NY. Raised in Queens, moved to Manhattan, then back to Greenpoint, Bklyn. Moved in 1988 to a small rural town in the Rocky Mountains, Ridgway, CO where I still live and have a studio. I lived in Spain in 2012-2013 and continue to make regular trips there to draw and paint. Work from my recent show Blowdown was featured in the Spring issue of Fungi Magazine
