City that does not sleep Painting

My name is Anastasia Kulicheva. I am originaly from Russia. I am an artist whose palette varies with time, continuously exploring the dimensions of various materials – be it oil painting, dry pastel, gouache, graphite pencils, and other graphic materials. One day, I may create watercolor landscapes; on the next, I bring to life characters with gouache. In my creative journey, I have developed a profound affection for mythological creatures, characters from folklore, and old tales and legends. These enduring stories carry within them warnings, teachings, and wisdom, conveyed through the guise of fantastical beings that often bear the traits inherent to real humans. Today, this union of the real and the fantastical world seems to be fading away, with commercialization producing a multitude of monotonous fantasies filled with creatures that lack a backstory or reason for existence. My endeavor is to restore the depth and metaphorical nuances to these magical beings. Among us today, who possesses the traits of the proud sphinx, the mourning siren, the enticing mermaid? I invite you to embark on this journey through my work, to rediscover the lost connection between reality and the mythological world.
