About The Artwork

This artwork is part of a project called "When you pretend...". In the background are the emotions that people try to hide and evoid, in this case anxiety. All the squares on the top, are the lights that are on during the day in the society. We think we can hide these emotions, but what we don't realize that at some point all the lights will go off, and the only thing will matter is how do you feel. Society has showed us to pretend everything is perfect, with this collection I want to make visible perfection is only an imperfection of society.

From Barcelona (Spain), currently living in Jakarta (Indonesia). Visual abstract artist, self-taught. My work is about the use of color and how it behaves on the canvas, with a daily observation and transformation. It's about the connexion I have with it and how the final artwork affects the observer. My works is open to subjective interpretation of every person that looks at it, as a result of their own experience and thoughts. My biggest concern is how today, humans hide their emotions to fit in this world. I welcome them to open up and be honest with themselves. My painting is made up of very expressive gestures, resulting in textured strokes that evoke the emotions that I hidden for years. I work with acrylic paint and mediums, only using the three primary colours + buff titanium, burnt siena and black. I have developed a formula where I create my color palette with these colours. I normally work on canvas (cotton and linen), but I am starting to use wood. I always stretch my canvas, because I have more freedom. The sizes of the canvas are medium-big, where the possibilities are endless.
