Cloud Forest Painting

I painted this in the cloud forest of Coatepec, Veracruz. I painted in a large veranda at the top of a house at the top of majestic valley. Down below I could see a small ranch of several acres. On the ranch about a half a dozen cow, a bunch of sheep, and a few horses, chicken, and geese chatted throughout the day. Each animal took their turn running through the pasture at the center of the valley and it was such a pleasure to watch the one man who ran the entire operation. He did it all with two dogs, a wheelbarrow, and a machete. It was beautiful to see him work his simple life. Happy and free. Every morning he'd walk along the path below my veranda to collect feed for his animals and we'd nod to each other; each of us smiling in the face of day's work. Ships from México.
