Cocooned in love and Memories Painting

I started planning this painting when my mum was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer and I was nursing her. Underneath this painting I wrote in large teal green paint "cancer is a cunt" I choose teal green as that's the colour for ovarian cancer. From the initial mark making and the anger I felt (plus the fact my mum would have gone mad that I'd used such a strong swear word. :)) the painting slowly developed into something much softer as I came to terms with my mums death. The voluminous curves represented a mothers hug and each hug contained a memory, security and warmth that only a mother can give.
