About The Artwork

These Color Studies are paintings I did to test colors and composition. It's always good to practice and to see what colors look good together. It is in this format that I freely use whatever colors I want. The riskiest combinations sometimes turn out to be the most interesting to look at. Also the design is done with free hand and I just let my mental state at the time dictate where the line will go. Every smudge, transparency, pencil line, or spill is all part of the piece. I used soft body acrylics for these so that the paint will glide on to the paper smoothly. I wish that one day the color of our skin could be like paint. That all of the different shades together would be considered art.

She studied psychology and received her B.A. from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and her M.A. from California State University Northridge (CSUN). "I use art as a tool to explore two or more subjects that may appear unrelated, for the sole purpose of finding similarities. Much like with the use of analogies.
