Color and emotions have an invisible bond in our mind; we are capable of saying that a color is sad or happy, and it seems perfectly normal to us. I suppose that in the brain there's a jumble of folders, or that the senses are too closely intertwined, or it's simply a filing system with color-coded labels for memories, assigning a color tag depending on the emotion we feel. There's a mental phenomenon called synesthesia where some people, when they hear music, see colors, for instance. The senses intermingle; it's something odd and uncommon, yet it exists. In contrast, the connection between emotions and color is entirely commonplace: cold colors are sad, warm colors are happy. In coldness, you're close to death; light and warm colors signify life. That's how we operate. Color is a gift to our senses; it can alter our perception of reality almost automatically. It's a wonder for us, so easily enjoyable. No need to know anything, just look.
