Artist: Đặng Can The painting is inspired by the coming Tet, traditional new year festival of Vietnam. In southern Vietnam, especially in the countryside, during Tet holiday, women wear beautiful traditional Ao Dai. This is also the time that flowers of ochna trees are blooming. Such flowers and women in Ao dai are typical symbols of traditioanal New Year for southern Vietnam people. Đặng Can artist is a Vietnamese painter who was born in 1957 in An Duc commune, Long Ho District, Vinh Long Provine, the place is located along riverside of Mekong river in Vietnam. His style of painting is not only very soft, deep but also very attractive in the peacefulness of Mekong Delta. His paintings bring full of color dreams, which are imbrued with poetry, touch of romance but also very realistic. The main subject throughout his works are landscapes in peaceful countryside of Mekong delta, the school girls in Aodai - traditional dress of Vietnam, and the daily activities local farmers. They are simple but lovely and calm to look at..
