About The Artwork

Captain America is the first Avenger I drew from Marvel. This was my second attempt, since I had made another one before for my brother who is a fan. Learning from my first try, I thought about making this one a bit more daring, a bit more "rule-breaking stubborn". I didn't want to give it a Comics look, but neither did I want to go over board with a movie copy. I went back to basics with manga and anime, thinking about the postures and the facial expressions. Adding the colors was interesting, although I did find the shield a bit difficult to do. I left the background black for a while, but I did not feel like it was finished, I felt like something was missing. So later on, I added this background. It took me a while, since I sketched each drawing on separate papers, then glued it together. As a primary base, I used newspapers in a kind of paper-mache style. In the end, It felt like a guessing game of what picture or meaning you would find next, until you have to comb the picture to make sure you did not forget anything. This painting is intriguing enough to get you coming back for more. As I pack each painting myself, I take great care with each piece that I make. It is ideal for birthday present or a Christmas gift, an engagement or simply a present for yourself.

My name is Lolita and I am a Contemporary Painter. I get my inspiration from things I see and hear and read. I have a very wide imagination and my subjects aren't always real. When I walk through the streets of London, I see invisible bridges that wizards cross, children running after pixies and men and women chatting to animals beside them. I paint many subjects and work in different styles. To add to my -sometimes wild - imagination, I am also a strong believer of Achievement and Empowerment. Heroes may be flawed, but as I read somewhere before "perfect is boring" (I can't quite remember who said it, but thank you from the bottom of my heart for that). So, you may notice in my work that I create achievement through an idea or a story, a sense of Self-Belief and Greatness.
