ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Trío" is a particular work by the abstract painter Enrique Pichardo. In this work there are elements of color that the plastic artist does not usually use frequently. It is a painting that exemplifies the naif style and technique of the artist. This is that the realization of the painting is full of improvisation. The inspiration of the moment dictates the course of the brushes that travel on the canvas. In this work, warm or ocher colors take a leading role. His lines evoke great artists such as Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Piet Mondrian, Paul Klee, Jackson Pollock, José Manuel Merello, Juan Gris and Albert Gleizes. Being the style of the unique master, with a mixture of everything that he defines as Naif. Work in rectangular format, measures: 120 x 80 cm. Abstract technique of acrylic on canvas. Different elements can be observed in this piece. in the first instance there are three characters that unfold in each third of the work. These characters are so abstract that they can lend themselves to the spectator's own interpretation, all three contain diverse elements in their anatomy within the bodies that Enrique Pichardo paints. In addition, there are different celestial elements, the stars are scattered throughout the work. Color composition with yellow and ocher as some of the pigments that stand out the most. There are also shades of greens, blues and reds in the work. Enrique Pichardo experiments with color as a boy or girl would mix colors interchangeably to obtain new possibilities to create in painting. In "Trío" the recurring feeling of re-designing and drawing since childhood is visible, where more than the result, the process of enjoying each brushstroke is what is truly important in a painting.

The Mexican plastic artist, Enrique Pichardo, has more than 30 years of experience as a painter. His technique and style combine artistic influences from other countries with the traditional Mexican influence. In his own words, he defines his art as naive expressionism. The plastic work of Enrique Pichardo has more than one aspect. On the one hand, he creates works that are densely populated with shapes, figures, and colors. On the other hand, he has abstracted urban landscapes with a neutral color palette that recreates everyday situations. However, the special characteristic that maintains the cohesion of all his pieces is the conviction of approaching art through a return to his childhood and his first traces. Paint like a child, paint with more expression than technique, paint with feeling over technique. The painter seeks the skillful strokes of his inner child to carry out each of his pieces.
