About The Artwork
This is silk fabric art, inspired by the wildlife. It is an abstract piece but has the birds and wildlife painted on silk. Heavily machine quilted and also hand quilted. Layers of silk are slashed to expose the bottom layers, and lots of threads are also exposed. Very unique piece of art. Painted with professional French silk dyes and gutta resist.

Dana finished her Degree in Architecture and engineering in Prague, Czechoslovakia and soon emigrated to Canada. She worked as an architect for 10 years before she switched to art. In 1998 Dana moved to Canmore in Canadian Rocky Mountains. Now she works in acrylics, mixed media, and textiles. Dana wants her viewers to feel her paintings with their hearts similar to listening a poetry. Dana won awards for her art locally, nationally and internationally. Dana's hobbies are mountaineering, skiing, hiking and climbing.
