About The Artwork

Paweł Górski, Conversation No.3, Acrylic in encaustic wax on linen canvas. Painted in the year 2016 on linen canvas. This series, named Conversation was inspired by my daughter and my real conversation with her. Conversation full of emotions, anger, and passion. Just real life in families. My favorite technique is acrylic in encaustic wax on linen canvas. I have been using this technique in my work since the year of 1980. Wax helps me to make the colors of my paintings deeper and more resistant in time. Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using heated beeswax to which colored pigments are added. The liquid or paste is then applied to a surface. This technique was notably used in the Fayum mummy portraits from Egypt around 100–300 AD and in many works of 20th-century North American artists.
