About The Artwork

Oil painting on canvas format 150x100cm. Beautiful metal frame. The painting is framed in a metal, custom-made frame. As in the oil painting, there are flashes of color, abrasions and evidence of the work of the hands.Ready to hang. Painting is characterized by the search for new forms, lines and color patches. The internal structure and expression are over the figurative art. Oil painting arises from the impact of colors, shapes and lines. It is also important the structure and density of the paint. A subtle, minimalist image, which at first glance is associated with an abstract landscape, however it is a sublime play of colors, planes and lines sometimes disappearing, sometimes placing a border.

Maja Gajewska - born in 1982 in Lodz (Poland). Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw (2001-2006). Master's degree at the Faculty of Graphic Art (2006). Winner of the silver medal "Lorenzo il Magnifico" in the mixed media category for the work "Polkas - Polish Swallows" during the 13th Biennale in Florence 2021. The artist creates within oil painting, spatial installation, graphics and drawing. Her painting is characterized by the search for new forms, lines and colorful patches. She rejects figurativeness for internal structure. In spatial installations, a strictly rigorous form transfers the power of work to expression and not to specific performance. Intentional lack of background causes that the central part of the work is the wire "entanglement", from which the outlines of undefined human figures emerge. The graphics show a minimalist approach to the form and colour. Since 2013 she has been running her own Art Studio. In addition to individual and collective exhibitions, her works also appear on many cultural events, such as Art Fairs, Design Festivals. She cooperates with Art Galleries, interior designers and architectural studios. Her works can be found in private collections, including Austria, Belgium, France, Spain, Canada, Sweden, Great Britain and USA.
