Torn pieces of paper from fashion magazines were creatively and carefully layered between applications of acrylic paint and medium. Faces are not created from a photograph, a model or a reference. They came into existence one brushstroke after another and one torn piece of paper after another - purely from imagination. I love seeing how personality and character coming into existence from an empty canvas. It's a creative and intuitive journey.
