oscinocera Hercules (adult and catepillar) by Liz H Lovell. Oil on 51cm x 51cm x 4cm The Hercules Moth is one of Australia's largest moths with wingspan of around 27cm. Interesting as with some other insects, the adult does not feed and as such has no mouth. The painting is of the adult male and its larvae stage as caterpillar that does feed on preferably the Bleeding heart tree (Omalanthus).
