Lizzy Forrester, a British born artist, resident of Spain, spends her time between her studio in the North West of England and her home in Altea, on the Mediterranean coast. Art, drawing, painting has been her lifelong passion, though she is self taught and only came back to painting in 2006 after a "spiritual retreat", having worked as a language teacher until then. Reticent about her artwork, "hopefully the paintings speak for themselves: it's about portraying an emotional state, the energy I feel surrounding us, in nature, everywhere." "If my work can reach out and touch somewhere deep inside, then I have more than accomplished what I set out to achieve." "Feelings, emotion, the unseen fleeting 'energy' is what motivates me to paint, often arising from stumbling on a scenic view that takes my breath away. If it makes me gasp, I want to paint it"
