This is a early oil portrait in the Hollywood series. Art Lee was busy in Atlanta Indy film scene especially around 2006-2010 and he had the great fortune to meet several Presidents of sizeable film companies. These interactions primarily took place around Lee’s artwork, some of it finding 5 digits. Today, one of Hollywood's biggest and most powerful producers is Lee’s biggest ‘Cinema’ series. Captain Jack Sparrow is nicely done with classical oil paints. There is a heavy gesso based texture that meanders under the paint surface. This is a realistic painting but has clear brushstrokes that gives it an artistic feeling. The slightest bit impressionistic when close to the painting. His first big break came when RJReynolds Tobacco Co hired the talented young artist to paint the Smokin’ Joe Camel character. In 1991, Lee was fortunate to be the Atlanta Braves artist, Daytona Motor Speedway, Honda, BMW, Corvette, Lockheed Martin Aerospace (F22 Raptors’ official artist) major motorcycle and car racers, celebrities and the US Air Force. The Air Force artist appointment is for the rest of his life. For fun, he rides motorcycles either on the road race track or motocross and have won races in both and also won Nationals in SuperMotard. His bikes include 2016 YZ450, R6 and a 1969 BSA 650 Lightning.
