It is part of the series of paintings dedicated to local food of my home country. Chocolate is a natural antidepressant, but like opiates it can create an addiction, albeit slight. For this reason it is shown here as a narcotic substance found by the police in a clandestine laboratory and then seized. Actually they are the Italian products "Chocolate Marangoni". The chemical formula is that of the endorphine naturally contained in cocoa. This is an oil painting on cardboard and it is being sold without a frame.

I was born and I live in Macerata, a medieval town in Italy. I started to love art after a trip to Holland, where I was overwhelmed by Rembrandt’s mysterious modulations of light. Then, I have been studying the references of the Dutch Master, up to the analysis of the creative processes of the Renaissance artists, even through studies on the various restoration by museums and retrieving information on several lost masterpieces. Going on with my research, as a self-taught painter I started using formulations of oil colors and supports compatible with those of the “old masters” in order to get a better duration reliability and thinking of their ability to communicate intense emotions. As a result, current issues such as feminicide and racism, or some classic themes like the initiation to Alchemy have been dealt in a contemporary reworking of techniques, styles and iconography of the past, creating in the studio my own compositions in which references to space and time are reduced to essential. I would like to stimulate the public to reflect on the surrounding reality, also through provocations, urging them to observe my artworks with greater attention, and challenging people to discover their several meanings. | Selected Public Collections Italy: S.
