Stefano Possieri was born in Milan, (Italy) on the 28th of May, 1963. He comes from a family of artists since his mother painted miniature porcelain figures and his uncle was a well-know Italian painter. It was his uncle, Ilario Ferranti “Garü” 1935-2002, (founder of the Corrente Materigrafica Italiana), who first helped and advised Stefano and cultivated his innate love for design and painting. In 1978 he studied graphic design at the Instituto de Artes Gráficas "Opera Don Calabria" and advertising design at the Instituto "Santa Caterina Da Siena" in Milan Italy. In 1984 he had his first exhibition, with the theme "Natura Morta" (Dead Nature) at the Biblioteca Municipal in Segrate in Milan province. In July, 1992 he went to Guayaquil in Ecuador, South America as an expert advisor contracted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work on an international cooperation project to develop graphic design there. This posting lasted 3 years, but during that time he married an Ecuadorian, which meant that he stayed in Ecuador, where he now lives and works as an advertising graphic designer and painter. In November, 2002 he gave an exhibition with the theme "Donna in Blu" (Donna in Blue) at the Salón Cultural del Casino in the Oro Verde Hotel in Guayaquil. He spends most of his time painting and doing other artwork with the passion that comes from his family heritage. His preferred materials are oils, acrylics, pastel, charcoal and tempera.
