About The Artwork
Crying Tree was made in response to visiting a art piece in a churchyard where I live in Kent, UK. To draw attention to the plight of ash trees, which are in peril in this area, you were invited to listen to the sound made by the tree as it takes water via it's roots to the leaves. I imagined this as the tree crying at it's plight.
