Curious Painting

I was born in Sarajevo where I spent most of my childhood. During the civil war, my family moved to Slovakia where my mother comes from. I used to enjoy painting during last years at elementary school and my teacher sent my paintings to a national competition called "The universe through children's eyes". I received first place. At the high school, we had no art classes and I have started moving closer towards athletics. I represented Slovakia at the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008 as a decathlete. Transitioning from professional sport is a very complex process and luckily I received a scholarship at EPFL in Lausanne and moved to study sports management in Switzerland. At some point, I started following activities which I felt excited about. First was a photography and recently I found my passion for painting. I don't have any art education which I see very positive as I can be truly myself and experiment and create without any limitations. I feel this is just the beginning of my new career as an artist.
