With the work "Who's next?" And "Pepper", "Curiosi" is part of a project about pareidolia (the illusion of seeing known forms in objects or profiles with a random shape), works created for an exhibition about the Italian hyperrealism in a gallery of Honk Kong. Inspired by Caravaggio, in this "dramatic" still life I deal with the theme of racism. Different peoples, if kept forcibly separated or, more simply, without an adequate system of integration, will always have a great distrust of one another. The solution is always that of mutual knowledge and respect for the uses and customs of others. Here the red chewing gums amaze themselves at the sight of the green stranger. I would like those who observe the painting to ask themselves which of the two races has the most privileges: the red one, confined within the glass prison but comforted by the group, or the green one, free in space but in complete solitude? The red balls want to remember some models of DNA structure, thanks to which science has shown that we are all the result of the union of different races. This is an oil painting on canvas and it is being sold without a frame

I was born and I live in Macerata, a medieval town in Italy. I started to love art after a trip to Holland, where I was overwhelmed by Rembrandt’s mysterious modulations of light. Then, I have been studying the references of the Dutch Master, up to the analysis of the creative processes of the Renaissance artists, even through studies on the various restoration by museums and retrieving information on several lost masterpieces. Going on with my research, as a self-taught painter I started using formulations of oil colors and supports compatible with those of the “old masters” in order to get a better duration reliability and thinking of their ability to communicate intense emotions. As a result, current issues such as feminicide and racism, or some classic themes like the initiation to Alchemy have been dealt in a contemporary reworking of techniques, styles and iconography of the past, creating in the studio my own compositions in which references to space and time are reduced to essential. I would like to stimulate the public to reflect on the surrounding reality, also through provocations, urging them to observe my artworks with greater attention, and challenging people to discover their several meanings. | Selected Public Collections Italy: S.
